From an early age, Katelyn has always aspired to live a creative lifestyle with her passion for storytelling.
A graduate of the University of Mount Union, Katelyn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English: Writing. After graduation, a love for writing propelled Katelyn to work as a freelance writer where she wrote for websites such as Martha Stewart, Martha Stewart Weddings, Teen Vogue, Real Simple, Town and Country, Coastal Living, as well as other online publications.
It was a combination of Katelyn's love for writing & the desire to live a creative lifestyle that inspired her to create her blog, The Yellow Spectacles almost a decade ago.
Creating an inspirational lifestyle space online opened Katelyn's eyes to photography & the rest is history. Katelyn is a natural light photographer, native to the Youngstown, Ohio area. She creates timeless content for the Mahoning Valley & beyond state borders. Yes, Katelyn still writes for online publications as well as maintains her blog, The Yellow Spectacles.
Those who peak behind Katelyn's lens will observe she's an avocado enthusiast, dog lover, mermaid believer, coffee drinker, & eyeglass aficionado.
It is no secret that the best camera is the camera that you have on you. A passion for storytelling equates to a passion for cameras & gear. Client photography is captured on a variety of Sony Full-Frame camera bodies alongside a smaller Sony camera for street photography. In addition to Katelyn's Sony gear, travel photos are taken on a small but powerful Olympus TG Tough 4 as well as a small Leica camera.
