Behind the Lens: Holiday Product Photography & A Season of Storytelling
The holiday season has a magic all its own — twinkling lights, soft textures, cozy moments, nostalgic colors, and that unmistakable sense of warmth. As a product photographer, this time of year is one of my absolute favorites to create visual stories that feel inviting, intentional, and emotionally resonant.
This year, I’ve been working on a variety of holiday product photography projects, leaning into textures like wool, velvet, ribbon, handcrafted ceramics, winter greenery, and soft candlelight. Each image is meant to feel like a tiny world that invites viewers to step inside and stay awhile. I want my work to look timeless, captivating, and gift-worthy, just like the products featured.
Throughout this season, I’ve focused on:
Creative Themes & Styling Direction
- Soft neutrals inspired by cottage-core coziness
- Vintage-style holiday touches (think 1950s postcards + warm storybook hues)
- Natural + sustainable elements such as oranges, twine, greenery, and kraft
- Editorial-style product arrangements with lifestyle accents
h My Holiday Product Photography Approach
Every product tells its own story. Before shooting, I spend time understanding its purpose, brand identity, and emotional appeal — especially because holiday buyers connect with feeling more than function.
My process usually includes:
- Mood boarding + prop planning
- Choosing light sources that create a nostalgic glow
- Styling with depth, layers, and intentional negative space
- Shooting tethered to refine details in real time
- Light retouching to preserve authenticity and texture

A Few Examples From This Season
I’ll be sharing some of my favorite images below — each created to celebrate the spirit of gifting, cozy living, and thoughtful design. Whether it’s handcrafted soaps, artisanal treats, jewelry, books, seasonal home decor, or pet products, I love capturing what makes an item the perfect holiday gift.
If you’re interested in holiday product photography for your brand or small business, I’m booking both local and remote sessions.
