Product Photography
Entry No. 14
This spring, Ritual sent me their Essential Protein Daily Shake 18 {protein powder} that's plant-based {pea protein} & vanilla flavor.
Using their protein powder, I thought this would be a great demonstration of how I approach product photography mixed with food photography.
There are so many ways to approach product photography.
First, I start with a color palette. Here, I went with a light & airy, slightly beachy vibe by using a Sandstone & Beachwood backdrop. I LOVE Replica Surfaces, & these are two boards from their everyday collection.
Next, I continue to establish a color palette with the props. I selected a plate in a similar color combination to the backdrop & opted for a black & white cloth napkin as well as a gold spoon & green plant to 'pop' in the photos.
The next step in product photography is shooting the actual product. In this sense, the product was the smoothie. I like to get up-close shots, shots from above, as well as further away. I want to show off the protein powder too. I did so by shooting the actual package in the background as well as some powder on the spoon.
Together, these images all cumulatively work together to create a product gallery that tells a story in a cohesive way.
Here's the Vanilla-Blueberry Protein Smoothie Recipe:
- One Cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk {or milk of choice}
- A handful of Ice Cubes
- A handful of frozen blueberries
- One Scoop of Essential Protein Daily Shake 18
Method:
Blend & Serve Cold!
