What's Old is New: Photography Inspiration Lately

Entry No. 30

When it comes to the world, right now, I feel kind meh about it all. However, I have been finding inspiration {life, fashion, decor, photography} in vintage {or vintage-inspired} items such as vinyl records & film cameras.

To the point, where many of the vintage aesthetic images have found a way onto my website.

So, why? First of all, color & color palettes of all of these items are really similar--creams, rich woods, earthy tones, mixtures of gold, brass, & bronze. While {technically} some are not 'vintage' they have that look.

Personally, opting to include vintage elements into photos tells a deeper story & I feel, gives a photo more depth & characteristics. After all, old items have history & maybe a bit of mystery. Another reason as to why I am drawn to including vintage subjects & props in my images.

Secondly, adding a vintage character to your photos makes you & your photography standout. Some old items are hard to come by, meaning not everyone will be photographing them.

Vintage is a matter of personal taste, while I am drawn to some old items, I am not to others--creepy dolls, clowns, anything lace--ehh! However, it is good to know that beauty is found everywhere--the new, the old, you name it!
