Photographing The Wilds
Entry No. 54
The Wilds, located at 14000 INTERNATIONAL RD
CUMBERLAND, OH 43732, is a large {some 10k acres} animal conservatory where animal lovers & wildlife photography enthusiasts can ride an open-air safari bus to explore the exotic animals on the property.
The Wilds have animals of all variations such as {not limited to} Dhole, African Painted Dogs, White Rhino, The Greater One Horn Rhino, Persian Onager, Cheetha, & more.
You may recall, the photos I took at the Akron Zoo, but this open-air safari was a more interactive experience as the safari was over two hours & you had time to see/photograph the animals. Luck has to be on your side if they are out or hiding in the shrub.
Luckily, I saw all the animals during the 900 miles we covered, except for the giraffes, as they were not out that day.
I took my Sony a6400 camera with my Tamron 70-20mm lens using a URTH polarizer. The ride was dusty & pretty bumpy. The safari ride is bumpier if you sit in the very back of the bus which I naturally did, because I thought I could get the best photos there.
I am in the works of updating my website to include some of these pictures on my Animal Kingdom page. However, enjoy these safari photos. I hope to be able to go on an African safari one day as well.
